Prenatal Ultrasound and Diagnostic Services

First Trimester Obstetrical Ultrasound, Nuchal Translucency Screening (NT Screening), Full Integrated Screening.

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and insurance card to complete registration. Your bladder will need to be full. Please drink two 8-ounce glasses of water 1 hour prior to your appointment time. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 45-60 minutes. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.

Second Trimester Obstetrical Ultrasound

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and insurance card to complete registration. A full bladder is not necessary. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 60-90 minutes. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.

General Ultrasound Services

Pelvic and Gynecological Ultrasound

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and insurance card to complete registration. Your bladder will need to be full. Please drink three 8-ounce glasses of water 1-hour prior to your appointment time. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 45-60 minutes. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.

Abdominal Ultrasound

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and insurance card to complete registration. Have nothing to eat or drink other than water if necessary from midnight the night before the exam if scheduled in the morning. If your exam is scheduled in the afternoon, please have nothing to eat or drink 6 hours prior to the exam. Abstain from smoking and chewing gum on the day of your exam. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 30-45 minutes. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.

Renal Ultrasound

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and insurance card to complete registration. Please drink one 8-ounce glass of water 1 hour prior to your appointment time. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 30-45 minutes. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.

Pediatric, Scrotal, Thyroid, Carotid, Vascular and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and your insurance card to complete registration. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 30-45 minutes. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.

3D Digital Mammography and Breast Imaging:

Screening 3D Mammogram

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your insurance card to complete registration. If you have had prior mammograms at another facility, please bring the mammograms or the facility contact information so we can obtain them for comparison. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 30-45 minutes. Do not wear body powder, deodorant or perfume on the day of your appointment. You and your physician should receive results within 2-3 days.

3D Diagnostic Mammogram and Breast Ultrasound

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and insurance card to complete registration. If you have had prior mammograms at another facility, please bring the mammograms or the facility contact information so we can obtain them for comparison. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 45-60 minutes. Do not wear body powder, deodorant or perfume on the day of your appointment. You will receive your results on the same day. Your physician will receive results the same or the next day.

MRI

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your physician’s order and insurance card to complete registration. If you have had MRI or CT exams at another facility bring them with you to your appointment, or request that they be sent prior to your appointment.

Jewelry and other accessories should be left at home, if possible, or removed prior to the MRI scan.

These following items cannot be brought into the MRI scanner room:

  • jewelry, watches, credit cards and hearing aids, all of which can be damaged
  • pins, hairpins, metal zippers and similar metallic items, which can distort MRI images
  • removable dental work
  • pens, pocket knives and eyeglasses

In most cases, an MRI exam is safe for patients with metal implants, except for a few types. People with the following implants cannot be scanned and should not enter the MRI area:

  • internal (implanted) defibrillator
  • cochlear (ear) implant
  • if you have brain aneurysm clips, check with the surgeon who placed it to determine which type of clip you have; many clips are safe for MRI

You should tell the technologist if you have medical or electronic devices in your body because they may interfere with the exam or potentially pose a risk. Examples include:

  • artificial heart valves
  • implanted drug infusion ports
  • infusion catheter
  • intrauterine device (IUD)
  • implanted electronic device, including a cardiac pacemaker
  • artificial limbs or metallic joint prostheses
  • implanted nerve stimulators
  • metal pins, screws, plates or surgical staples

A few patients experience side effects from the MRI contrast material, including headache, nausea and local pain. Very rarely, patients are allergic to the contrast material and experience hives and itchy eyes.

Your appointment should take 45-60 minutes. Results will be sent to your doctor within 1-2 days.

Thyroid Biopsy, Stereotactic Biopsy, Ultrasound-guided Biopsy, MRI-guided Biopsy and Cyst Aspiration

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. Do not take aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (advil, motrin, alleve, celebrex, etc.) 1 week prior to your appointment. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Please bring your consent packet with you on the day of your exam. Please refer to this information for your preparation instructions. Your appointment should take 60-90 minutes.

Osteoporosis Screening

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your referring physician’s order and your insurance card to complete registration. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. Your appointment should take 30-45 minutes. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.

X-Ray

Please arrive at your appointment time to register. You must bring your referring physician’s order and your insurance card to complete registration. Wear a comfortable 2-piece outfit. The length of your appointment will vary depending on the type of x-ray examination. Your physician should receive results within 1-2 days.
